Kit Siang must clarify if DAP-PAS ‘Islamic’ deal was to fish Chinese votes in GE13

PCM veep Huan Cheng Guan wants Lim Kit Siang to clear the air on DAP-PAS pre-GE13 agreement.

As non-Muslims are not subjected to the Islamic laws in Malaysia, it’s puzzling to rsee DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang and other party leaders objecting to PAS-initiated amendment bill to Act 355 of the Syariah Court (Criminal Jurisdiction) 1965.
Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) vice president Huan Cheng Guan recalled that DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke once told the Chinese that they had nothing to fear hudud so long as they didn’t rob or steal.

Huan claimed that the DAP, during the last general election (GE13) had said non-Muslims should not be worried about the amendment as the Syariah Courts didn’t have any powers and jurisdiction over non-Muslims.
He wants Kit Siang and party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to answer to the Chinese community if their agreement with PAS Islamic agenda just before GE13 was still applicable or was it all just “a lie used to gain votes”.
During the time when DAP and PAS were both part of Pakatan Rakyat, Huan said hudud did not appear to be a problem with DAP, specifically Kit Siang and his son Guan Eng.
“I still remember the collaboration agreement signed by both PAS and DAP, specifically PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and Guan Eng,” Huan said.
He said that in the agreement, Guan Eng agreed that PAS had the right to pursue its Islamic state concept as a political party.
However, the PCM veep said since the two parties went their separate ways, DAP no longer agrees with PAS’ political struggles.
“DAP now says that PAS struggles are against our constitution. This clearly shows that DAP is a hypocrite political party that always changes its stands just to ensure it gained support and political power from its supporters,” condemned Huan.
Huan rebuked Kit Siang for trying to frighten non-Muslims in Malaysia by claiming that the Act 355 amendment will have an impact on their lives.
“This is another major lie by DAP. This is because the amendment to the existing law is only to increase the jurisdiction of the Syariah Courts which caters for Muslims only,” Huan said.
“Personally for me, the main reason why DAP dictator Kit Siang and his allies are opposing the amendment to Act 355 is because Kit Siang does not want to see the Muslim community in Malaysia being united for their religion.
“He wants the Muslims to fight against one another and at the same time DAP takes the opportunity to poison the minds of the Chinese community to oppose the amendment to Act 355,” he added.
